A Place of Rest and Spirituality
The Hospitality and Welcome House "Stella Maris" is a facility managed by the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians in collaboration with the Educating Community and the Salesian Family. It offers a serene and family-like environment for individuals, groups, young people, and families who wish to experience a time of spiritual and physical rest. "Stella Maris" is the ideal place to reflect on Salesian spirituality, share fraternal experiences, deepen faith, and participate in moments of personal and communal prayer. It also offers meetings on socio-educational and cultural topics, study paths on the figure of Maddalena Morano, and excursions to discover the beautiful Ionian Riviera, from Taormina to Messina.
Facilities and Hospitality
The House consists of five welcoming and functional pavilions, suitable for different needs:
- Stella Maris: 14 rooms including singles, doubles, and matrimonial rooms.
- Mother Morano: single rooms, matrimonial rooms, dormitories with 7 and 8 beds with external services.
- Mother Margherita: 5 rooms with private bathrooms including singles, doubles, matrimonial, and triples.
- Salesian Hostel: 7 dormitories with 6–8 beds with shared bathrooms and two rooms (triple and double).
- Community Guesthouse: 6 single rooms with private bathrooms. In addition to the rooms, the facility offers meeting rooms and spaces for gatherings of various sizes, ideal for conferences, spiritual retreats, and training activities.
Meeting and Training Spaces
To encourage moments of exchange and learning, "Stella Maris" offers:
- A 120-seat meeting room and a 40-seat gathering room.
- Six classrooms for small groups (15–20 seats).
- Five dining halls with various capacities (from 6 to 80 seats).
- Large outdoor spaces for open-air activities.
- Chapel for personal and communal prayer.
These environments make the facility suitable for educational meetings, spiritual growth experiences, and moments of sharing in the typical Salesian atmosphere.

"Stella Maris" is not only a place of hospitality but also a centre of memory and deepening of Salesian spirituality. Guests can visit the memorial spaces of Maddalena Morano, an exhibit-path dedicated to her life and mission, and a museum of sacred art. These areas offer a unique opportunity to discover the richness of Salesian charism and to live an authentic experience of faith, immersed in an environment of serenity and beauty.
