Salesian Family
A movement of people working for the salvation of youth. Founded by Don at the end of the 1850s. An ecclesial reality that bears witness to the common will of its members to continue the Founder’s charism. A movement of religious men/women and lay men/women with a clear:
- Salesian Vocation: a drive that comes from the Holy Spirit. Those who join know they are responding to a specific vocation.
Participation in the Salesian youth and popular mission, directly or through indirect forms of support.
Sharing in the Salesian educational-pastoral spirit and method: the Salesian spirit that "shapes" all the groups is unique and finds its original model in the lifestyle of Valdocco, where Don Bosco worked.
Evangelical life, according to the Salesian spirit which commits each one to live, in their own situation (as religious or lay), the evangelical counsels, in pastoral charity and zeal for souls.
Active fraternity in the spirit of family, a clear and indispensable feature of every Salesian work.
